Summer Cleaning!! For my sanitizers and cleaning products, I ❤️ essential oils. My son & make our own- a fun easy activity, teaches him how to clean & more importantly, I’m not worried about him touching dangerous chemicals that may harm him in the future! Something I would never let him do with conventional cleaners like bleach, Clorox, Pine sol or Lysol’s of this world. ⛔️

️⃣ Oregano oil-> has antiviral properties against the nonenveloped murine norovirus (Gilling et al., 2014), antimicrobial properties (Nayely Leyva-López et al., 2017) , antiviral properties (Preuss & Aruoma, 2020) & anti-bacterial properties (Lu et al., 2018). Clearly a winner!!

️⃣Tea tree oil for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties (Carson et al., 2006). The Aborigines used the crushed leaves of “tea trees” to treat coughs & colds.

️⃣Orange oil which is uplifting and can help with anxiety (Goes et al., 2012) & along with lemongrass and eucalyptus is antibacterial (Pattnaik et al., 1996).

️⃣I often add lavender oil because it is relaxing and soothing & my son ❤️ it!

️⃣Last but not least, I like to add Onguard - for many reasons. It contains wild orange peel, clove bud, cinnamon bark/leaf, eucalyptus leaf & rosemary leaf/flower. Clove is antifungal & antibacterial (Xu et al., 2016), cinnamon is an amazing antioxidant with antibacterial properties (Alizadeh Behbahani et al., 2020) & rosemary has antiviral properties. (Khwaza et al., 2018).We do about 10 drops of each, but it really depends on the size of the bottle & what you like. ❤️ You can also make sanitizers using alcohol or vodka & some people feel more comfortable adding those along with the oils. Remember to use a glass spray bottle where possible.
